Monica and Gavin first met during their freshman year of high school, where they quickly became friends. After freshman year, Monica moved to White Lake, but despite the distance, the two stayed in touch over the years.

After earning his associate's degree from Fox Valley Technical College, Gavin transferred to the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, where Monica had been attending since 2016. As they spent more and more time together, their friendship naturally grew into something more, and they officially began dating in April 2019.

Since then, life has brought many exciting milestones. They graduated from college in 2021, moved back to the Antigo area, and began building their life together while starting their full-time careers. In July 2025, Gavin surprised Monica with a proposal during a hike and picnic at Jack Lake, turning one of their favorite places into a forever part of their story.

Together, Gavin and Monica like to spend their free time fishing, exploring nature, golfing, watching anything from the Taylor Sheridan universe (especially Yellowstone), working in the garden, planting flowers, cooking together, camping, spending time with family and friends, & playing with their two cats, Squeak and Freddy.

As they begin this next chapter, Monica and Gavin are excited to continue creating a life filled with adventure, travel, meaningful traditions, and countless memories with each other and with the people they love most.
